I was asked about the flights involving a change of planes at Moscow and whether Moscow is an easy airport to find one’s way around if you are not a good Russian speaker?
The main two Moscow airports are Sheremetyevo (SVO) and Domodedovo (DME). In my opinion it would be easier to change the plane at Domodedovo airport if your route allows you because at Sheremetyevo there are several terminals located not so close to each other. At Domodedovo everything will be in one place and it is obviously easier for orientation.

Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport has announced plans for a large-scale $97-million investment program through 2015, aimed at the construction of a new passenger terminal, parking lots, and a line of passenger boarding bridges.

We heeded your advice and Susie is all sorted with changes at Domodedovo… Thank you…
You are welcome, Simon.
Best regards to Susie. 🙂
I am flying from Singapore to St Petersburg. There is no direct flight and I have to take Singapore Airlines to Moscow (DME) and connect to Aeroflot from Moscow(SVO) to St Petersburg. What is the best way to transfer between airports and how much time should I allow between arriving at DME and flying out from SVO. What about my luggage?
Would appreciate your advice
Laura, it would be easier to change the plane at Domodedovo airport. Anyway, check this post, please: http://askmoscow.com/2010/12/again-airports/
