Moscow is not renowned as a welcoming spot for budget travel – but a planned new hostel catapres in the city centre could start to change all that.

Swanky Stoleshnikov Pereulok is more renowned for fashionistas heading for Louis Vuitton or Denis Simachev, but the city’s largest hostel is due to provide 153 beds at bargain prices on the same street.

Bed and breakfast in the new development, which is expected to open by the end of this year, will cost 20-25 euros a day (800-1,000 roubles) according to the Tourinfo web portal.
