If you’d like to see an example of a wooden house in Moscow built by an artist for himself and his family at the end of the XIX century I would highly recommend a visit to Victor Vasnetsov house-museum. The house with an art studio was built according to Vasnetsov’s drawing in 1894.
the artist’s studio with a wide window is on the second floor

an icon scetch for Alexander Nevsky cathedral in Sofia

Alkonost reminds me of Vrubel’s painting
One of the early works causes association with the works of another artist of the time – P.Fedotov.
Besides his own house, V.Vasnetsov designed in Moscow the façade of the Tretyakov Gallery (1904), E. Tsvetkov’s house on the embankment of the Moscow River (1901-03), and took part in the design project of the church in Abramtsevo (1881).
