Question from Michelle:

Olga, if you would be kind to answer my question, I will be arriving via Domedovo  (Moscow ) airport heading towards Kremlin and Im planning to take the aeroroport express train. Please guide me how.

1. Take the aeroexpress from Domodedovo airport to Paveletsky railway terminal. domodedovo aeroexpress

2. When you arrive to Moscow almost all the people from aeroexpress will go in the same direction – to the metro, just follow them. The entrance to the metro station Paveletskaya (radial, green line) is located in the train terminal.

This post will explain you how to get from the Moscow Kremlin to the Kievsky terminal or precisely to Vnukovo (VKO) aeroexpress terminal.

Let us start from the Russian state library. We have seen the Kremlin museums, from the central part of Alexander gardens entered the underpass, passed it to the end and once outside looked at F. Dostoevsky monument on the left. Now, please, follow my arrows.

We need to enter  the metro station Arbatskaya.

Again airports

I  got a question:

Is it possible to take a taxi to the northern most Metro Sta. (Rechnoy Vakzal), then use the metro to get to Domedyedevo. (Heard rumors that the line was being extended that far to the south.)

Actually, I would not recommend anybody who does not speak Russian to take a taxi service at Moscow airports for safety reasons, besides it will be too expensive.

There is a possibility to use

the AeroExpress train which goes between the Sheremetyevo airport and Belorussky Railway Station (35 min, 300 rubles) http://www.svo.aero/en/aeroexpress/

than the metro (you need to be a communicative person to ask for help if there will be any problem with orientation)

than the AeroExpress train which goes between Paveletsky Station in Moscow (metro station there has the same name) and the Domodedovo airport (40-50 minutes, 300 rubles).

In my opinion the best way to escape this long trip around Moscow is to buy tickets which allow to change the plane in one airport. I would prefer Domodedovo.

NB: Domodedovskaya metro station of the dark green line is very far from airport! There you can take a regular city bus or marshrutka=minibus which run from this metro station to DME.
